THE MIDWEST REGIONAL ENGINEERING SKILLNET evolved as a result of a group of private enterprises and five county enterprise boards identifying a need for further training and development within the engineering sector in the Midwest. Limerick County, Limerick city, Kerry, Clare and the North Tipperary Enterprise boards successfully submitted an application for a development grant on behalf of the engineering businesses in September 2007.
